We designed, printed, built and installed all aspects the Hallway gallery.
At the start of the Museum journey, visitors are introduced to the theme Forged by History, Service to the Crown since 1743, while a large hanging banner of The Last Berkshire Eleven – The Heroes of Maiwand creates a dramatic focal point commemorating the bravery of the regiment at Maiwand. Large graphic panels highlight the regiment’s long heritage through displays of shako plates, Glengarry badges, belt buckles, and buttons used from the eighteenth century onwards. As royal affiliations and battle honours were awarded, additional insignia and devices were added to uniforms, reflecting the regiment’s evolving identity and traditions.
We designed and built a large-scale book-cover-style interpretive feature within the Hallway Gallery, using oversized “books” as both storytelling and navigational devices to guide visitors through the museum. Layered graphics, historical imagery, and concise interpretive text introduce each gallery theme as part of a chronological journey. Suspended regimental drums and bugles above visitors enhance the atmosphere of military ceremony and tradition.
